Our Sunday

Photo is one of my garden’s first year. A photographer wanted to do a series of photos, but I wouldn’t allow it. To me, my garden was just a work in progress. It still is.
Today we visited our friend, Chuck, who is in rehab. He was alert, but in horrible physical shape. Our friend Sandi, who is Chuck’s wife, has her own serious medical issues. I kissed Chuck goodbye, and truly hope it’s not forever, although I believe it is.
We received a call from our car transportation company. He’s picking our car up tomorrow at 4:00. We need to load up the car, so you may not see much of me unless by a miracle!

@DianneN I think there is no harm in still including them in prayer and asking for a miracle every day. Jesus is our ultimate doctor. God bless.

Thanks, Amber. Hopefully, I will have more gardening posts over the summer.
We’re sick over Chuck. He’s such a close and wonderful friend here and up north. The doctor will check him tomorrow to see if he’s well enough to return to NY. Sandi is turning her garage into a special room for him, but he will have to stay in a nursing home until it’s ready in about 4 months. He’s going to need full time care. Sandi may have to sell her condo

Your garden is lovely. I bet Chuck and Sandi are glad to have such good friends. So you'll have your new car soon? Cool.

Thank you! I can’t wait to start working on the garden as soon as I get home.
We’re blessed to have them in our lives, but so deeply sad at their downturn in their health. It really bothered us to see how poorly Chuck looked today.
No, our car that we have is being transported to Connecticut. We will fly home. The new car should be ready sometime in late May or June.

Sorry about your friend but don't lose hope. I thought a friend of mine would be gone last summer. She is now very slowly getting stronger.

I’m so happy for your friend. That’s truly amazing!
Chuck has a rare form of COPD and congestive heart failure. He’s retaining water and has severely swollen legs, arms, and fingers all bandaged that he can’t stand or walk. I will continue to pray and hope for a miracle, and that his doctors in NY can work a miracle.

@DianneN It's possible. She has a rare form of leukemia so it took time to diagnose. And she does chemo every so many weeks for the rest of her life.
His does sound bad. Especially retaining water that badly. Thinking of him.

@wolfgirl569 Wow! That’s a lot of chemo, but if it helps her to live, then I don’t blame her.
Just heard from Sandi. She said everything went well at his doctor visit and he will be able to fly home with a doctor on board. Forgot to ask her when.

I’m really sorry about your friends Chuck and Sandi. It’s hard to lose a friend. I am sure the visit was difficult at best.

It was just horrible seeing Chuck so much worse than our last visit, but he was mentally alert and talkative. Sandi is terribly stressed, which is affecting her cancer. She has so much on her plate. We’re going to squeeze in a visit with her tomorrow.
Thank you.

All those problems of getting down there, then getting home.
I hope your friend is able to rally, and that his wife improves too. Yes, let's pray it's not "goodbye for good."

We’re used to the back and forth, but deciding what to bring home or leave here is a royal pain.
Thank you. Unfortunately, Chuck’s problems are not curable. He has a rare form of COPD, congestive heart failure, and a host of other problems. Sandi has been a fighter battling cancer since 2017. She is so stressed right now, which makes everything worse.

Thank you! That’s so sweet of you.
The car is all packed and we’re waiting for the transport to arrive. Nothing much to do except clean and pack up my jewelry to carry it with me on the plane. I have the self cleaning oven on and will wipe it down when it cools.

Let me see if I understand. You are putting all your personal stuff in the car and then the car will be transported to Connecticut while you fly home???

Exactly. It should arrive on Thursday or Friday morning. The driver will call us tomorrow, (Wednesday) to give us a better time of arrival. We told him that if we aren’t home, to pull it into the driveway. We’ve used him before, so he knows our house. If need be, my son would collect it, but he’s picking us up at the airport in Westchester. Usually, everything works out well.

@MommyOfEli2013 Thank you. It’s been a shock to us from the first day they arrived in Florida. He really should have stayed in NY with his own cardiologist.
