I don't know what I'm going to do about my shoulders. I am in such pain; and I'm limited in range of motion. It's difficult for me to brush my teeth, get out of my chair and type on the computer. I hate having to keep taking pain pills; and I don't want to go to another specialist, have shots or surgery. Do you have rotator cuff problems? Did you have surgery? What was the recovery time and how much physical therapy did you have to have? Thanks. Breakfast - Granola bar Lunch - PB&J sandwich, sweet potato chips, yogurt Dessert/Snack - Nature's Bakery Brownie Dinner - Chicken fingers, tater tots, broccoli What did you eat yesterday? I hope you can decide on a course of treatment that works for you. Yesterday, I had roast and carrots, Frito salad, chicken and mixed veggies, grilled shrimp, and an orange.

@LindaOHio You’ve never had one? I figured it was a traditional salad most places since I’ve had it so many times. It’s really good.

I am so sorry, it happened to me years ago, a problem to my rotator cuff. I refused surgery, i had physical therapy and it worked. I had 18 physiotherapy session, half hour each. I met too many women who had surgery and they were still in pain. I was glad of my decision.

Yeah, that's what I'm afraid of. The same thing happens with back surgery. A cousin of my husband's had several back surgeries and still wasn't fixed.

@LindaOHio - I was told that recovery from rotator cuff surgery can take several months, up to a year. I had no one to help me, I needed to use my arm. And anyway physical therapy was needed after surgery, so I decided to try with physical therapy.

@LadyDuck Sometimes they are too quick to cut you, and the therapy is just as effective. I am glad for you.

I hope your pain will go away soon. I had leftover food from my husbands‘ birthday last Saturday. Meatballs, fried noodles and boiled rice.

I wish I had an answer for you. I have aches and pains of my own, but not in my shoulders. Hopefully someone here has an idea, or you can find workable solutions from your doctor. For dinner I made a kielbasa stir-fried rice. It was good. Haven't had that in a while.

I should probably at least get an X-ray done to see what's going on.

@LindaOHio I have something going on with my wrist. I don't know if it's arthritis or something else. If it keeps up I might have it looked at. Not sure what's going on. I just know I didn't do anything. But it hurts.

Before he was in the accident, my son had rotator cuff surgery on both arms, one at a time. He had some pain but the shot thing didn’t really help him as they just didn’t help for a long enough time. So he opted for the surgeries and he was very glad. He says the PT is critical, you need to do that. The only bad thing that happened about his was when he was in the wreck, his car was slammed on the driver’s side and it really messed up his left arm. They really-did his rotator cuff and had to put a steel rod in his arm from the shoulder to the elbow from all the damage from the wreck. My aunt had both of hers done, one at age 77 and one at 78. She was very happy with the results. She was in a wheelchair and she said she wanted her arms to work so she did it.

@MarieCoyle I know. It's getting to the point where I am taking more and more pain pills...and that's not good.

@LindaOHio He did very well--better than I thought he would. They just did one arm at a time. Like he said, he has to be able to use his arms--and so do you. I know you don't want surgery, no one does...but if you are in that much pain, there isn't really a lot of choices.

My hubs needed rotator cuff surgery, but refused it. He now has torn ligaments in both shoulders, and there’s nothing that can help him. Too much college baseball and football playing with the kids. Therapy will do nothing. He just tries not to aggravate the problem to cause pain. I really am sorry for all your pain.

You sound like me !? I couldn't shave today because my arm was so sore and i couldn't lift the razor. Shoulders sore all the time. I haven't even been to a doctor so don't even know what's wrong but I wish I had a pill to stop the pain right now

@LindaOHio I get what you are saying Linda I couldn't lift a 10kg bag of compost today. I just don't understand what's happening. Yet later on I picked a big dog up with no problems because it wanted a cuddle

My brother and uncle have both had the surgery, and they’re doing fine but still recovering a year after it. My brother is back to playing golf (“real” golf, not miniature golf…he played with his grandson yesterday!). I had baked potatoes at BBQ places! Lunch was at Sonny’s in Lexington, dinner was at Bennett’s in Pigeon Forge. No chicken at dinner because they don’t have it (so I’ll eat at Corky’s today). Fiber and applesauce and an apple from the breakfast bar! And LOTS of water, it’s warm now!

There must be therapy that a doctor could order for you that may help. I would look into that alternative.

Maybe physical therapy would be helpful (as others have suggested). I don't know much about rotator cuff surgery other than it does take a long time for recovery.
