Pretty bought some Barilla High Protein Spaghetti noodles. I browned ground beef with Mayan Sweet Onions in a skillet with garlic, a bit of salt and spices. The spaghetti didn't smell or taste any different to us from the cheaper all wheat spaghetti that we usually purchase. But it is supposed to be better for our diets. Have you tried the high protein pasta? It's made with ground veggies to give it the higher protein and fiber your body needs. By the way, I stepped on the scales today and am down to 220 lbs now.

I haven't tried it. There seems to be high-protein versions of everything these days.

True... Pretty is trying to switch us over to high protein everything when she can but I'm not fond of the high protein juices. I can taste the ground peas in those and in the Almond milk.

You're doing well at losing weight and hopefully some health.

Thank you. I see the dentist tomorrow to get a tooth pulled and then on the 24th so the neurologist can remove some spinal fluid and see how much that helps my brain. I asked Pretty a few days ago when it would be time for a checkup with my doctor. She thought that is in January. Should I ask how you're doing? Or leave you alone a while longer?

@sallypup You're very welcome. They aren't supposed to knock me out to remove the spinal fluid. I was warned it would be painful. I can't even have aspirin before they do it. Okay...

@DaddyEvil Thanks for the shudder. And happy meds to knock you out before they remove that fluid. I have one more week before I talk to the oncologist again. Maybe I will know more after that??

Good for you, congratulations! I did buy some high protein pasta a couple of months ago, but have yet to make it.

Thank you. You might as well come on over. I made a huge bowl of it. You can try it without making your own.

Can't say that I have tried any high protein pasta noodles of any kind as of yet. They are adding that to alot of packaging and I wonder to what degree they've changed the product. You've done well with losing weight.

The buzz word at the moment seems to be protein. Everyone is looking to up their intake.

Indeed, and like most fads there is no basis for it at all.

That's nice. Losing weight is not always easy but I'm glad you are pushing through regardless

You pay the pasta a lot more and there is a very little difference in proteins. You get proteins from your ground beef anyway 190 calories per serving instead of 200. I eat 10 grams less of regular pasta.

I bought some when I was avoiding carbs. Couldn't tell any difference

I wanted to try that spaghetti but didn't know if it would taste good and/or be worth the price. I do like Barilla and usually get the whole wheat thin spaghetti.

This idea of 'high protein' everything is just another dietary fad. Any regular diet provides enough protein for a regular person.

I’ve never tried high protein pasta, but I do love Barilla. That’s the brand I usually buy. Congrats on the weight loss.
