The Suporters of Obama are getting Scarry in my area...

Not kidding I can not believe what this world is coming to. A friend of mine said she went out with a friend and overheard a conversation between a couple of guys who said they would do some pretty horrific things to anyone they knew was a McCain supporter. I've heard talk before from people who said they would like to slash this persons tires on election day to keep them from voting McCain. You do not see any signs for McCain in my area which I find very strange for election time. I still come across signs for Hillary Clinton which since I live in New York this was to be expected and there are Obama signs here and there. All and all from the people I know which support McCain have taken to simply posting up a support the troops sign. Anyone else been threatened or heard someone else make threats against someone else for who they support. People in my area are really upset by this. A friend of mine actually hushed me when we were in a restaurant and I brought up the debate. No one should be afraid to vote for who they believe in or talk about it in public.

There are fanatics floating around during every election season. You have to consider the source and not let people get to you. Very rarely do obnoxious gas bags follow up on the things they mouth off about.

I have heard that we can expect a lot of race riots if Obama doesn't get elected - I think that says a lot, and I think we should be very concerned. You should probably bring this to the attention of the law enforcement officials in your area.

I don't think the police will take an unprovable claim that their friend told them that they'd overheard some other people making threatening coments. For all we know the friend made it up or doesn't even exist.

There isn't anything the police will do it would only cause more problems. I live in an area that everyone knows everyone, and if you turn someone in for threats then it just comes back to haunt you. There were a lot of other Obama supporter incidents that happened to me but I won't go into detail, I don't want to make it out that it is all Obama supporters and I think a lot of it has to do with the state you are in and New York is democrat. Just noticed to a lot of community diners to support Obama but no one dares to do one for McCain. Not so far anyways but I'll keep checking the local papers.

They really are ridiculous. My wife and I were out a few weeks ago and saw a car that had been badly egged. We wondered why someone would do that and then we saw an old Bush Cheney sticker on the back. I think it's safe to say that's why it was the only vandalized car there. My experience has shown me that many of Obama's supporters are extremely vicious and hateful people who actively HATE anyone who feels differently than them. Now I don't mean democrats in general, because I never saw this type of hatred and rage in 2004, 2000, or 1996. For some reason there are just a lot of angry and unstable people who flock to him. Just look at Sandra Bernhard.

Actually back in 2004 there were incidents of tire slashing against supporters of Bush. I know I read something on that last election.

I'm voting for Obama and I fully support an individual's choice. In my town, I have seen signs for both candidates. I've heard some very angry, very scary things come out of McCain supporters but I believe the issue isn't who they support. The issue is the type of person that they already are.

That is sad (and criminal). Everyone has the right to vote for whoever they want. WITHOUT being threatened or scared about it. It is great and all to take the election seriously but this is going over board. Personally I would have given those people a peace of my mind. This is a free country and everyone is free to vote for whoever they want. Who are they to threaten someone just for having different political beliefs than them. It is small minded and petty. IT just shows how mean and self some people are. They think only "their" way of think is "right" and anyone who does not agree with them is wrong and some how less of a human being and not deserving of respect or tolerance because they do not agree with them. It truely sickens me. I hope they realize that if they actually did slash someones tires to keep them from voting and got caught it would be a felony. You can not tamper with someones right to vote or hamper it in any way.

Serious enough to threaten the lives of their fellow Americans? It is serious when a candidate can flare up this much hate in the hearts of his supporters.

If he has to resort to his supporters threatening others to vote for him, he most certainly doesn't need to be President.

Missybal, how exactly has Obama flared up so much hatred in the hearts of his supporters? Exactly what has he said to inspire hatred? I've heard him speak but I guess I wasn't paying attention...each and every time...because I never once heard anything that would incite supporters towards violence and intimidation.

That is some interesting information. Just the other day I was driving through a bigger city and noticed that there were many Obama signs in yards, but only one or two McCain signs. I knew that there had to be many more McCain supporters in a town that size and wondered what the deal was. It all makes sense now and it really does not surprise me at all. Remember when America was the land of the free and the home of the brave? I hope hordes of closet McCain supporters quietly and anonymously cast thier votes on election day. That is what I will be doing.

The are just following the lead of the DNC. All sorts of criminal activity goes on here in Wisconsin by kids of Wisconsin Democrat party leaders and groups like ACORN and The New Voters Project. You are right, they will stop at nothing, and they don't care who knows it.

So true and you know that the only word I heard about the first form of this bailout put out by the Democrats had 20% of the 700 billion going to ACORN was only addressed in passing, it needs to be something the American people know about. What is going on? What is America coming to?

These things need to be reported to law enforcement - if we allow Obama's supporters to make us afraid to vote the way we want, we have allowed them to take away our freedom! It's just the beginning of what will happen if he is elected - just the start of the freedoms that he will take away.

One just needs to look at the way Obama supporters act here on mylot, to see how far this has gone.I have never seen so much controversy and tempers flaring during any election. I hope Obama doesn't get elected, simply because if his supporters act like this before he is elected, how would they act if he was president and someone spoke out against him?

Geesh, where in New York do you live? That's horrible and there's no way to defend it but to say "the supporters of Obama" is kind of a blanket statement. Obviously there are some Obama supporters who should be in prison, pure and simple, but that sure doesn't mean that's typical of his supporters. Regardless, I certainly agree that nobody should be afraid to vote for who they believe in or to openly support him or her and I don't blame the people in your area for being upset. Has law enforcement been brought into it at all? Annie

Fanatics are crazy. No matter what you think, you should stay away from them, and not anger them. I know it sounds like you're restricted, but these are people who'll never be caught for the crimes they commit. Your friend is right. You should be afraid of them. Catching their attention will get you only trouble you cant handle. The police are people for the job. If they dont do it, no one can.

Thanks so much for responding, unfortunately much like turning in your neighbor for some disturbance that you know the police can't do much about... you still have to live next door to them the next day.

Then I guess there will someday be a group of people who will threaten anyone's life who are supporters of Obama when they hear about this then, I guess? Lol that is just plain stupid.. It's really good that they are being serious about this year's election, but to them, I guess they think the supporters of McCain does not have the right to vote at all, as long as they do become the supporter of Obama? That's insane!!! As a democratic candidate, he will probably promise to us that he will bring the troops back home, end the war in Iraq, and do something useful that will run the country smooth as possible. Well, who is that democratic candidate b.s ing? Does the man think that he really has the power to do such thing? Does he think that he really has the power to lower the gas prices, end the war in Iraq, and do this and that which will run the country smooth as possible? Sad thing is, he DOES NOT!!!! At this point, I really don't care which candidate gets elected, whether it's Obama or McCain. Probably Obama, because he is more popular candidate currently, compared to McCain or Clinton (who is like... down there by now) The bottom line is, no matter which candidate gets elected, it's actually the Congress that is running the country, which they shouldn't be doing, and the president is being controlled by the Congress, which he should be doing his job and making some useful decisions in order to run the country, and he's not doing it!!! I know that American government system is pretty darn messed up compared to the old days, but that's just how it is right now, and some1's gotta do something to end it. Otherwise, the country is going down.

Obama & his supporters are a joke. The people in my area (to my knowledge) aren't bad like that, but even if they were, oh well. They apparently have issues & I don't know what good they think that would do to threaten someone for their free choice.

You have every right to state your opinion about Obama but I take issue with you lumping all of his supporters into your statement, "Obama and his supporters are a joke." I may think McCain and Palin are "jokes" but I'd never say that about all of their supporters. Annie

Things like this and hearing all this "cult of Obama" stuff has me wondering if there will be riots in the streets if he's not elected. What about all those poor school children singing about how he's going to "change" the world. What a let down it will be for them if he's not elected, hopefully they won't give up hope for the future.

I live in the western suburbs of Philadelphia where the large majority is supporting Obama including former Hillary supporters like me. There have been no threats of any kind and I don't expect any. There was actually a posting on Mylot awhile back from a McCain supporter threatening to "take out" Obama if he was elected. I found that very disturbing but it is the only threat I've seen anywhere against any canididate.

Things have not gotten that bad yet where I live. It is a shame when you have to be afraid to discuss important issues such as the election and the candidates without having to be afraid someone will do something to you for your opinion. This is just one of the many things that need to be changed in our society!
