in this day of the computer, emails etc, we dont really need to write down that much. you dont have to write letters, memos or even cards, you can do them all on the computer, so i am wondering how is your penmanship. mine is actually pretty messy, i am not a very neat writer i am afraid.

Let's just say if Mylot wasn't internet based but instead somehow became a letter writing circle,I wouldn't be earning much at all here with my chickenscratch scrawling!

same here! I even remember my teacher in grade school that my handwriting is like that of a chickenscratch scrawling.

I keep a diary of sorts and to be honest the old traditional way of writing a diary works, I could never type a diary or keep a diary on the computer, it's just not the same is it? I sometimes dabble in creative writing too, again done by pen. I have always been complimented on my writing, very neat, legible and a credit to me, right from school. I was taught well I guess. I do write letters by computer however, but more personal stuff I keep to using the pen, and my favourite pen is a fountain pen and ink.

Wolfie...so nice to see you back..your grounded comments/input are missed dearly! Truly hope all is well! My penmanship, like your's, began in grade school..One or Two, I think and can remember my teacher's name; Ms. Ada M. Zoney, whom was a stickler for the "McClean" method of writing..and to this day, I am proud of my penmanship! Cheers!

My penmanship sucks. I never could write that neat, but now throughout the years, my writing has continued to get worse. Although much work is done on the computer, I still prefer to take notes by hand if I am listening to someone talk or preach. Sometimes I cannot read my own writing: that is pathetic and it bothers me more all the time.

It is difficult to have to admit it, but after working on the computer for so long, my penmanship is terrible and my handwriting is also not as smooth and elegant as it used to be! I even have problems writing my own name, to tell you the truth! That is very sad, especially if one is getting on in age as I am!

I am so used to typing in the computer's keyboard that I've almost forgotten how to write using a pen. Though I still write short words like listing the groceries when I go shopping, I have not been writing long notes more than 100 words for such a long time now. I might still be able to write using pen but my fingers holding the pen will not be steady and surely makes my handwriting worse than the doctor's handwriting.

I love to write, but my penmanship is really very bad. I write on my diary, a notebook or a piece of paper and i was wondering why it still hasn't changed my penmanship. I was even awarded as having the best penmanship during my elementary days but i don't know what happen to the best..i can't even be proud of being awarded as such when my penmanship is really worst. Maybe having a good penmanship is not on how much you write but i think its a gift that one has in born.

My penmanship is horrible. I can't even read it and I mean that. If I pick up a list I've made a week or two earlier, I have no idea of what most of it is! I have to print if I write something important, but otherwise I type it.

In college, people thought my handwriting was typing. I never wrote in cursive when I took notes, I just printed everything. I don't know how many people took a look at my notes and asked me why I typed them up. I have really good handwriting, whether it is in cursive or print.

It's terrible. Even I sometimes can't read what I've written. They say I don't follow the lines on the paper when I write, so it's like floating.

back in the late '60's I realized that I couldn't read my own writing and went back to printing. now that printing has evolved into a form of cursive all my own, but at least I can read it!

I am not either....I also have arthritis so my fingers aren't as nimble as they used to be. If I take my time I can write nice....but mostly I am not very good at handwriting....thank G*d for the computer!

Hi cher! I am so thankful for computers! They came along right on time for me! I have the worst handwriting ever. It is totally illegible whether I write or print. My mother's handwriting is the same way. When I write my grocery list there are times I am standing in the store trying to read what I wrote and I have no idea what it says!I am thinking that I should just start typing the lists from now on!

Mine's not great. I didn't have a neat handwriting even when I was little. I also can't write straight. My handwriting usually skews up or down. Recently I was assessing the training agenda my boss gave me. She asked me to mark those that I can teach and those I can't. There was a remarks column and I realized as I write, my hand writing has become worse!

I take a great deal of pride on how I hand write as to me it is important that things look very neat and organized. Maybe a bit of OCD but if I have to start over several times I will. I also practice on paper before I write a on a card as the penmanship has to be really neat.

Hi. cher913. My penmanship is very neat and pretty. A lot of people have told me this. I just write this way without realizing that I do.

The loss of my penmanship is something that really bothers me actually. I used to do a lot of writing by hand and I tried, since I was a child, to write as pretty as my mother did. I did have good penmanship...I was often asked to write things that were important because of that. These days, whether it's due to the lack of practice or my age, my handwriting isn't as nice as it once was. Sometimes I can't even read it myself!

Mine is pretty good. Regardless of having computers around, it always helps me out - for school and for to-do lists, to write everything out manually in a planner or on a piece of paper. It helps me organize my thoughts. But yeah, writing (as in hand-writing) is definitely becoming obscure.

My penmanship sucks right now. I remember the term my mom would call it, chicken scratch. I have different penmanship over the years specially when I was young and tend to imitate my classmate's penmanship. I really can write neatly if I want to, but I guess my penmanship now reflects the kind of life I have. Always on the go. That's why it looks like all the letters are not in place because I just can't wait to be done with it.
