I bought some sliced ham. My hubby did me a favor and bought some as well with the bit of groceries he brought home before leaving for Chicago. It is alot of ham. We have had sandwiches, ham rolls, and ham with eggs. How would you use the ham? I'd appreciate suggestions.

Make cheesy scalloped potatoes and add the ham to that

Sounds good..She could also add it to a homemade pizza if she wanted to also. I usually use Au Gratin potatoes and add extra stuff. Like extra cheddar cheese,a can of mixed veggies, and sometimes hamburger, polish sausages or ham chopped finely.

Sometimes, I like to take leaf lettuce like romaine or iceberg and wrap the lettuce around a piece of lunchmeat. A sandwich without the bread.

I'm not much of a ham eater but I think I would use some of it to make ham and cheese sandwhiches. You could also fix a pot of beans and some cornbread and cook some ham in the beans also.

Yes I agree, I buy ham and turkey at the first of the month, and know that we won't eat all before it goes bad, so I divide it into portions that we would use in a reasonable time period and freeze it. You could use it to make ham and beans or put some on a grilled cheese. Freezing it won't take away from the taste.

If the ham is thin sliced you could fry it as you would bacon for BLT sandwiches or cruble it as a salad or baked potato topping. Along the same thought bacon (ham) wrapped hot dogs or chicken pieces. I use ham when I make eggplant parmesian. It frezes well so you could pop some it in the freezer for later use.

You could freeze some of it..or you could add it to mac and cheese maybe or grind it up for a ham salad even. Hope you get alot of suggestions for the use of all that ham.. but if I had alot I usually will freeze it and use so much at a time.

How thoughtful of your husband to grocery shop for you. But it sounds like your getting a little tired of ham any way you fix it. Here is a web site that has a lot of recipes for using left over ham or sliced ham. It is just ham dishes but some of them look pretty good. hope you find something that works

Freezing is a great idea. Here are some other dishes you might like to try, though.
*Egg and ham omelet (if you have trouble making a perfect omelet, like I do, just stir pieces of diced ham into some scrambled eggs and then add some cheese once they're cooked).
*Hawaiian pizza- just cut the ham into small pieces and use it to top a pizza with some drained crushed pineapple.
*Bean and ham soup- This is a great way to use leftover ham. You can use canned Northern (white) beans if you don't want the hassle of cooking dry beans. Use a good recipe site like www.allrecipes.com to find a recipe.
Those are just a few of my favorites that I can think of. Have fun!

How about a burritto style wrap, similar
to a chicken wrap and maybe cook up some rice
and add the ham in chunks along with stir fry
veggies. Add spices to taste and wrap it all up
in a burritto or tortilla shell. Add cheese if you want.

If it is ham that you usually don't buy - maybe a special flavor - freeze half and have it for next month. Or even no matter what kind it is...freeze half. You'll get so sick of ham if you eat it all and probably just toss it cause you are sick of it. That's be what would happen in my household.

How about a nice hot ham and cheese sandwich, made like a grilled cheese, but with the addition of ham. You could also make some ham and cheese omelets. Or how about making a Hawaiian pizza and using the ham and some pinapple and a little red onion, and a little BBQ sauce and cheese on a premade pizza crust. Or even a Navy Bean soup with ham, that would be good too.
