Wow! What a surprise was waiting for me in the mailbox!

My son came over on Monday looking for a car for his wife...he asked me to take the morning and go with him as he hates to look by himself. She had given him a specific type of vehicle she wanted. Well we went to one dealer and went through the lot and then I suggested we go to their second lot which he didn't know anything about....as soon as we got into the lot he spied a car he wanted to try out. So he drove it and we went in and he bought it. I know some of the guys that work at the dealership...and I was kidding them how I had brought him out and if I hadn't he would have never looked at their lot. I also get my oil changed and service work done at this same place. Today I get home and get the mail and there is a check for $100.00 for a referral!!!! I never expected to get something like that! I thought maybe a free oil change or something. I am going to use the money toward redoing my craft room! Woo Hoo. Have you ever gotten a check or money that big for a referal?

Wow, that is wonderful. I know there is a tax service that will pay like 50 for a referral, so I guess I shouldn't be surprised a car lot would do this too..So, I am guessing many of your local friends will be getting a "you should buy your car here" speech??? lol

I have never gotten anything like that, but.....
last July, my husband and I bought a Suzuki. My husband, among other jobs, owns and drive a limousine on the weekends. He loves this job. lol
Last winter, my husband has a job with the limo and had to go to the town where we bought the Suzuki....and just for the heck of it, decided to go into the dealer to see if he could wash his limo.
The salesman said: sure...and they all washed it for free.
My husband was told, anytime he wants to get the limo washed while in town, do not hesitate to go to the dealer and get a free wash.
It is definitely nice to get little unexpected perks.

Now that's fun. Hope you have fun fixing up your craft room. You could start a new service and call it, "Go With." Offer your services to help someone find a car. You might be able to make some fun money on referrals alone....lol I have never had a check for any kind of referral. I did however get 3 free months of burglar alarm monitoring at no charge because a neighbor decided to use the same company and I referred her to the company. Hope your daughter-in-law was happy with the car.

No, this has never happened to me but I'm very happy to hear you can now re-do your craft room, so cool. That was also very cool that the salesperson did that for you without taking advantage of the situation.
Wow, do you know anyone else you can take there?

That's awesome!!! Good for you!!! I love unexpected surprises like that. That's awesome! I have never gotten a big check like that for a referral, but I have heard of car-sales agencies doing that. I just have not bought a new (or new-er) car in at least... 4 years.

No, I never have. We have gotten small things like $5 gift cards, but never a check and never for that much.

That's cool!
I never get any unexpected surprises. I'm still waiting for my student loan refund to come.. and we're getting pretty hard up. We actually overdrew our account last week, which as you know causes a snowball effect so we're super short this week and could possibly overdraw again. That refund would sure come in handy right now!!

Actually, my little sister screwed me out of a referral when she bought her car from the same dealership that my husband and I bought our car through. Instead, she used a different salesperson at the dealership and we didn't get a referral check. However, I know that if she would have mentioned our name as a referral at the dealership when she bought her car we would have been entitled to have received a referral check for $250.

No, I haven't had a check like that from anyone! Serious congratulations to you, and I hope your craft room is fantastic when you finally get it done. I think that speaks volumes about your dealership, keep going there for certain. And I hope your daughter in law loves the car.

Not that big, but I did get $75 once for being a part of a focus group. Then I got there, and they told me they didn't need me, gave me my $75 they promised me, and I was on my way. I was glad for that, because I wasn't totally interested in the whole thing, and just needed the money. LOL

That is great news. Wow, your craft room sounds wonderful. Have fun spending the money. The car place sounds like a good choice to get a car or have your car serviced.

that is great that you got that money, lol i love it, i have never gotten any money from referals at all.. i bet it made your day, glad for you as well that you get to spend it on a good cause and something fun.. i just got my chek today we got it a day early lol i was happy until i had to give it all to my bank :( but im just glad i had it to give and thankful that there will be more like it to come on the next will be a full pay check this was only for 1 week.. so next check i get to keep some of it and my bill will be paid off and by me.. enjoy that new craft room.. :)

Wow, I bed that was a pleasant surprise. I don't know any car dealers that do that. Not very many would I bet. It sure is nice that they show some appreciation to someone who brought them some business. You should ask them if they'll do that every time and then take all your friends there when they are looking for a car.

That was a lot of money that dealer gave you. May be you are a trusted customer and they wanted to appreciate you for that. That kind of referral never happens with many dealers therefore that is just the place to be. You should have told your son about the same.
