Lenore Plassman My car is 24 years old, gets good gas mileage and is not giving me any issues. I see no reason to go into debt by buying another car- I'm getting older so I don't drive as much, either.

DE Cars last as long as the owner wants to keep pumping money into it as it ages. I usually keep mine until it's cheaper to buy a new one than fixing the problems the old one has acquired over the years.
