@much2say People generally refer back to Bubblews (the site) fondly, but the admin very unfavorably, and for good reason. I mean, we all know what we were getting paid was too good to be true. But at the same time the admin kept saying nothing was wrong—unfortunately many people fell for it.

I can't remember how I learned about MyLot since I know I was at several other sites post-Bubblews before I got here. Niume was one I liked that I stuck around with until it closed.

I am positive I remember you from there as well. It was fun while it lasted, but yes. Not sustainable. The money was great, but it just never made any sense.

I was there from beginning to end. I don’t remember you . I remember very few from Bubblews, I remember DaddyEvil and I believe LadyDuck and someone called Gabby and Crazy Horselady. I’ve about forgotten everyone.

I remember a couple of good months like that too @Kandae11. It was surprisingly easy to make money there. There was a woman on there, and for the life of me I can't remember her name. But she swore she was going to make a career out of online stuff and I kept telling her to be careful about that. I have not seen her anywhere after Bubblews.

@porwest I made quite a few thousand dollars with them. It was interesting that we could put links to Amazon and get a certain percentage of the sales.

@marlina I forgot about the Amazon links, but you are right. You were also allowed to post links to other of our work—something I wish MyLot would let us do, but I understand why they don't. Interestingly enough I do not recall many people abusing that over at Bubblews, although they did not do as good a job of policing spammers over there.

I will admit that I did really like the site, and not just because of the money. But I also cannot say the money was a real incentive over there. I was sorry to see it go. But I knew for a long time the writing was on the wall. It was insane money and there was no way they could keep up with it. I never had a problem getting paid until the very end. But I know posts about "where's my money" were very, very common.

@porwest Associated Content was based in Denver, Colorado, and was sold to Yahoo at a purported sum of $100 million for 2 million posts ie $50 per post. One could earn $2 for 1000 views and some could have made over $1000 per month. A couple of my posts hit a few thousand views within hours of posting. Wikinut was based in the UK and Bukisa in Israel. They all became inactive over time.

Yes I was on the site. My friend @freak369 earned THOUSANDS of dollars on her Candy Crush posts and received none of them. I did well there but knew that the site wasn't going to last for very long. I miss Epinions. I made bank there.

@TheHorse Were you able to save any of the pieces? I tend to save quite a lot of even the mundane stuff I write. Eventually it gets incorporated into longer pieces for places like HubPages or other sites.

I never join Bubblews at all. I was on another site and they kept talking about this great site Bubblews. When I wanted to learn more about it, the site had closed down already. I was also on Associated Content, and that didn't sustain too. So far, myLot is the long reigning one.

Bubblews was a site where you could write small articles or just talk with your friends about different things, sort of like myLot... But Bubblews promised more money to the people there than they were actually making. Some people made a lot of money there before the site crashed.

I was on Bubblews for two or three years. For sure from 2013-2015 and then up to the end. I believe I used the name "Celticeagle" on there or some derivative of Eve York. I still have some copies of my posts from there. Not sure I recall many from there. Sorry.

@porwest Honestly, that's what I think too. You know I am not a political Conservative. But I am a bit conservative when it comes to...the people you associate with. The parties they shared online, with bimbos and...I don't know who else...with us paying for it/them (don't get me wrong--I made some dirty dollars there too) were just vulgar, and showed the kind of people they were.

@porwest In one of my more "conspiracy theory" moments, I wondered if they weren't getting "dirty" money from a certain country to which we sent soldiers in the 1960s and 1970s. Remember that many of the plagiarizers who were never busted came from there.
