Well, what should I talk about first? The fact that we no longer have any hot water....again? Or the fact that it's 67 in the house and dropping; and I think the furnace pilot light is off now as well? And, of course, now it's the weekend again. Or should I mention how much the estimate is from the sewer company to excavate the back yard? Well, that quote is for $7,275. I honestly thought my vision must no longer be working. I will call today and see if I can get at least one more estimate.
45 days until spring.
Breakfast - Apple cinnamon muffin bar
Lunch - Meals on Wheels - Pork rib sandwich, sweet potatoes, Brussels sprouts and applesauce
Dessert/Snack - Lemon muffin and decaf coffee
Dinner - A piece of KFC chicken and an apple
What did you eat yesterday?

Oh, wow! I hope you can get some electric heaters for the house, at least... I wonder what knocked your furnace pilot light out? And why the water heater is off again? You're drawing bad luck like a magnet.
I ate steamed broccoli for breakfast, sloppy Joes for lunch and shawarma for supper last night.
I hope things start going your way soon.

@MALUSE I eat steamed broccoli for breakfast all the time. I like it and I'm getting ready to go to sleep. I'd rather not eat something too fattening before I go to sleep.

@DaddyEvil The heat and hot water are out because there is now 7" of water in the basement. The temperature has gone down to 62 so far; and I'm freezing.

It sounds like things have gone from bad to worse.
Why do you have to have an excavation, and what happened to the furnace pilot light, does that have to do with the water in your basement for so long?
Last evening we had a delicious lasagna that my hubby made on Friday afternoon. I love his lasagna.

They are trying to find out what is causing the water backup. Running a snake and a camera didn't do it. The water level is up to 7". That's why the water heater and furnace are out. :-(

Bless your heart! This could be a dangerous situation. I'm praying someone will come to your rescue. And a better estimate about the yard.

@LindaOHio I got through the surgery yesterday and the first sentinel lymph node didn't show any sign of cancer! So thankful. He put a port in for chemo. The lung surgery is next and radiation and chemo start at some point. Thank you so very much for your prayers. Sure hope your situation gets fixed soon. No heat or hot water is dangerous in this cold weather.

My gosh, you are going through one hell of a time over there. Time to just pack it all up and head for the Keys I think. Someone is trying to tell you. lol
For dinner we just had hamburgers, salad, and I fried up some garlic parmesan potatoes.

@LindaOHio The water exposure may have ruined both. Will your homeowner's insurance cover any part of this? We had pipes freeze and burst in January 2014 taking out two hot water heaters and a furnace and a/c. It was pretty much covered by homeowner's insurance.

Thanks. We have to get that water out of the basement so that we can get someone to get the water heater and furnace going again.

It certainly is. Especially since it turned out that the drain just needed a good snaking. Had someone else come out on Saturday. He wanted to try snaking out the drain again and would charge us his Saturday rate of $434. Basement is almost dry - should have heat and hot water by Friday...maybe. He saved us $7,275.

I used to live for a while in an older farmhouse. They had to put in a new septic system, dig new lines, make a ''gray water'' outlet, and so on. It was such a mess. That was in 2013, and it was over 10K. It's just terribly expensive. I'm so sorry.
