Just so much grossness with these animals lately

Sunday my husband and stepson processed the deer my husband shot on Thursday. During it my little dog was outside with them sneaking pieces out of the bucket.
Once they brought it inside to strip it off the bones my husband told me about it and how fat she was. He kept tossing her little pieces. I asked him to stop because she’ll vomit.
He and my stepson made jokes about it instead of listening and I said it isn’t fair how I’ll be the one to clean it up.
I was right in the night she vomited twice. The odor was horrific. Guess who cleaned it up as usual!
When she got her ears covered in blood from it dripping through the table cracks he did give her a bath for me thankfully as I was so busy cleaning up after their deer processing mess around the kitchen.
Yesterday I realized I hadn’t seen our cat for almost two days. When my oldest daughter came home after work she found the cat had been trapped in her room. He saturated a large spot on her bed with poop and pee. We were both so upset. She had to sleep on the couch was had a very hard time sleeping.
This morning I got up and found that when my husband let the puppy run around in the dining room before he went to work that she got a check and shredded it and ate all but two tiny corners of it. At least she didn’t eat it all or we would’nt have had any clue what happened to it.
It’s a dreary day out first sleet now snow flurries. I started off by washing the inside of the windows and the mirrors followed by laundry and dishes. I have lot of cleaning and cooking to do for our thanksgiving dinner here.
Photo is unrelated. It is a neat old coffee grinder I saw at a fair over the summer.

I hope your hubby thought to have the deer checked for diseases before he started processing it.
I would have left the mess from the dog vomiting and kept griping until the two of them cleaned it up. But then, I would have put the dog outside so they couldn't keep feeding her.
It's raining and nasty in my part of Missouri... I just hope it stops before the temp drops this afternoon. I don't want snow and ice.

@Daddyevil I’ve never heard of anyone having their meat checked before eating it. I know he has come across some animals that couldn’t be eaten after they were killed. One was a deer that had been shot but didn’t die and had its guts rotting so when it was skinned that was seen and it couldn’t be used. He’s been hunting and processing animals for himself and others since he was about 13 I think he said so at least with this he probably knows what he’s doing just not how to clean up after himself
. Well I should say doesn’t care to because you and I both know that.
You are right I should have made him do it in the night but I was soo exhausted I didn’t even think about it until I woke up for the day. Then I was so angry especially when he gave me a hug later on and I said what’s that for feeling bad you didn’t listen and stop giving Viking meat and I had to clean up her vomit. He laughed and said no. Never said he was sorry. That made me angrier.
I hope that the weather gets better there. Do you have to go out in it anytime soon? I have to go to town soon but have been dragging.

@shaggin Here, hunters have to have the animals checked before processing it. There's a wasting disease here that can infect deer and elk. Supposedly people can't catch it but the meat is considered unfit for human consumption.
My brothers always processed the animals they shot. Mom made them do it outside so she didn't have to clean up behind them. I was taught how to process different animals but don't hunt anymore. I had to clean up behind myself.
I don't blame you. That would have made me angry, too.
Pretty is showering now so we can go to Walmart. We forgot a couple of items we needed as well as check and see if Walmart will finally give me the RSV vaccination. They send a text saying it was ready yesterday but then said they needed my doctor's authorization before I could get it... The pharmacist is being annoying... My doctor already sent in the prescription for the shot. Their new AI for the pharmacy is balking and I don't know why.
Be careful driving to town... I don't want anything to happen to any of you.

@DaddyEvil hmm is the wasting disease mange?
That sounds frustrating with the RSV vaccine. Make sure you call and make sure all that is worked out before you drive there only to have them say you can’t have it done.

@LadyDuck I like the smell but I don’t want things to smell like that when things are smoked around they pick up a terrible odor. My stepson smoking in his room constantly made it smell terrible. Once he moves out I will have to repaint the room and rip the carpet out.

You have really had a couple of nasty animal grossness. I can remember helping my ex process and cut up a deer or two. I remember the smell. And that poor kitty. Men should clean up their own messes.

@celticeagle they don’t even smell it they are so used to it. Oh it’s vile to me.
The cat has the quietest meow I’ve ever heard. Even when I was right outside that door I never heard him meow. My husband heard him at one point downstairs and we opened the cellar and back room door but no kitty. I am very sad about the mattress though. I’m praying the smell comes out. It’s had a fan on it the past two days after washing it. Hopefully it’s dry as my daughter needs a place to sleep comfortably when she is here.

@celticeagle I shampooed it and then scrubbed it with antibacterial wipes and put a fan on it for two days. The spot where he peed is very faint now but it does still smell. I’m going to get a plastic sheet to put over it then her mattress pad can go back over it and her sheets. After she moves out in a year or so I will have my husband buy a new mattress for when my littlest daughter needs one instead of using this one which is over 10 years old now.

@shaggin .......Finn has a quiet meow too. He is just a dear animal.
I would scrub at the mattress a bit and then pack the area with a lot of baking powder.

People here in the UK don’t normally go hunting for deer. We do eat it as venison, but the deer are raised on farms and I guess humanly killed. I think they are processed in abattoirs much like cows, sheep and pigs, but I’m not certain on that. It’s definitely not something that most people here would do in their own homes.
It sounds like you are having a tough time right now with one thing or another, so here is a joke for you, which is in keeping with the discussion:
I was offered 8 legs of venison for £100, but turned it down as it was too dear (deer). Get it?

@Orson_Kart that’s interesting that people buy the venison there and don’t go out hunting for the deer themselves. I don’t think you can buy venison in any stores around here. I don’t think it’s allowed by hunters to sell it and there aren’t any farms that raise them for consumption. My husband hunts rabbits, woodcock, grouse, deer, pheasant and sometimes squirrels.
I got the joke
usual for me to figure it out right off the bat.

@Orson_Kart how you wrote it makes sense two dears would have confused me. So your mistake was better for me
. Of course I’ll take another joke I went to bed mad and woke up still disgusted over it. Going to be busy today we are having thanksgiving at my house.

@shaggin Some people do go hunting for deer here, dear.
But you need a licence. It’s usually just the gentry and those people who like the thrill of killing animals. Rabbits are commonly hunted here as they are in abundance.
I’m glad you got the joke as I didn’t quite tell it correctly.
It should have been (two deer). It’s one of those jokes that’s better said than read. Don’t laugh too hard will you?
I’ve got another one if you can manage another chuckle?

@sallypup I’m as emotionally and physically exhausted as one can be by the end of the night. I really don’t feel respected or cared about at all by my husband. There isn’t anything you can do though so worrying about me isn’t good for you. Thank you for caring though!

@shaggin Your answer is so tragic. I have been blessed with almost 45 years of somebody respecting me , emotionally and physically. I advise you to look for a support group. I strongly suggest you do that. There are folks who need support like you do and who would gladly give it back to you and that would strengthen you.

That's a lot to take. I think I would have packed up the kids and took off somewhere, and told him when it was all cleaned up, maybe I would return. Especially after he let the dog eat all of that and then the dog got sick. Enough is enough, good grief.

@MarieCoyle I thought the day before my husband would be processing the deer meat so my two year old and my son and I went out for the day. We got home and found my husband hunted all day instead. I would’nt have been able to talk my son into going out again the following day.

@AmbiePam it’s extremely frustrating especially when I’m always the one who has to clean it up. I don’t understand why my husband makes things harder for me. I am sure he does it on purpose honestly like throwing his socks on the floor right beside the hamper instead of in it.

@much2say the cat urinating in my daughters bed upset me much worse as it’s ruined the bed. I shampooed it and scrubbed it with antibacterial wipes. I put a fan on it for three days to dry it but when I sniff the spot I can still smell cat urine

@much2say I’m going to buy a plastic cover to put over it and she has a mattress cover. Hopefully those two will block the scent. After she moves out in a year or so I will throw it away. I was planning to keep it and let my 2 year old have it but not now.

@shaggin Oh gosh. Do you think you'll have to get a new mattress and bedding? We never had cats, but the lady who owned this house before apparently had a zillion of them living here. Oh yah, we know that cat urine smell and it lasts for a long time.

@Thehorse sounds like a good plan to me or just keep your doggies away from it
. I cleaned up the yard a couple hours ago of all the poop from when my husband taking the dogs out. While cleaning it up I stepped in some. If it’s not one gross thing it’s another
.

@Judyev they are going hunting again tomorrow in hopes that my stepson gets a deer. It’s likely that he will and I dread it. My husband said they can still get two more after that. We won’t have room in the freezer and he said we will give it away. I said that’s too much work to just give it away that I have to do all the clean up.

I would have so made him clean it up!! Remember though no one can mistreat you without your permission. You are teaching your daughter that this is how she should be treated in a relationship.

@snowy22315 it was in the of the night I woke up hearing vomiting and jumped out of bed. That mother my instinct I have and he doesn’t for he slept right through it and I told him the next day about the vomit. I was very irritated the next day that I just got up and cleaned it up not even thinking to tell him to do it. It may be better though who knows if he would have started yelling at me and woken the baby up.
You are right about my daughter. Right now at 2 she won’t understand but soon enough she will and he needs to start being more caring and respectful. He really sets such a bad example in so many ways for her.

@Fleura each day there has just been something nasty to deal with. Hopefully it’ll all be over with now this bad luck stuff like cleaning up dog poop in the yard and stepping in it in the process. I always ask my husband to clean up after the dogs when he takes them out but he won’t.
