I worked at Walmart for 15 years... Every time I saw a first edition of something that sounded interesting, I bought it and took it home to share it with Pretty. Some things we REALLY liked and some we really didn't like at all.
I think it was Pepsi that came out with the salted caramel soda. The first sip of it was good/interesting but, the more of the bottle you drank, the worse it tasted. We threw that bottle of soda away when it was still half full.
(Salted caramel ice cream is still one of my favorites, though.
)
And no, that soup doesn't even sound good.

@AmbiePam Yes, I remember clear Pepsi. Pretty liked it. I don't drink Coke or Pepsi. I prefer Mountain Dew.

I'd try it, who knows? it might be good, or then again, maybe I will see it at the Sharp Shopper store, as a grocery closeout!

@snowy22315 His should arrive Tuesday. He’s looking forward to it. My sister thought it sounded good too. I think I can’t get past the cheese. Although shredded cheese in soup is tasty for the most part.

I wouldn't try it, but know many people that try new foods when they are available. No soda is in this house, as drink water, tea or lemonade.

@AmbiePam I have a lemon tree in my back yard, so enjoy it fresh squeezed. No sugar is used when strawberries are ripe in my yard. Only a little sugar when none are available.

Probably, but I think it might actually be a retro flavor they brought back for publicity. Companies say limited edition and it seems people run out to buy it. For instance, there is this popcorn that my sister bought that is limited edition. My store didn’t sell it so I looked on Amazon. In a week it had gone from $4 to $33. I assume because word got out it was a limited edition, it was in demand, and Amazon got greedy. Isn’t that crazy?!

I've been seeing this soup on store endcaps, etc. I am not even tempted. I did look at the ingredients on the can, and remember that nothing nasty was in there--I think that Campbell's is trying to eliminate some of the questionable ingredients. The main thing about Campbell's tomato soup is that it has a lot of sugar in it. My favorite tomato soup is my own version of homemade, I will eat the plain canned one. Tomatoes are one of my favorite foods.

I want tomato soup, with my grilled cheese on the side, thank you very much. I like old fashioned tomato, made with milk or water. I like tomato bisque. I especially like Progresso Tomato Basil soup. Most of the limited edition whatevers do not speak to me at all.

I like cherry or Vanilla Coke Zero, but the Oreo cookies one was nasty.
I would hope that soup would taste like tomato soup with cheese in it. I wouldn’t buy it to find out, though.

I can’t eat plain tomato soup; it has to be tomato bisque. I’m not pouring water in a a gelatinous mess and calling it soup. Tomato bisque has so much more ingredients than a humble soup. Julia, I’m a soup snob!
I used to not like tomatoes in anything but sandwiches, but I guess my taste buds changed.

@AmbiePam I wish that I could change my taste buds to like tomatoes, but so far they need to be slightly warmed. I like them on bruschetta, but not on anything else, other than stew.
You aren't a soup snob, more conscious of what you are ingesting, and your description of the gelatinous mess is accurate. I will have to look for a tomato bisque for my hubs.

I would try it--though I think I might still prefer my grilled cheese to the side of my tomato soup.

@LadyDuck My mom worked full time and was also involved in church so we had canned chicken soup. My Nana made chicken soup from scratch, but she wasn’t working as much as my mom did. My late grandmother was a fantastic cook, even better than my mother, and that’s saying something.
