Well I made it through my hubby's Heavenly Birthday with only a few tears. I still can't believe he's gone. Got a call from my SIL yesterday. She's still contemplating driving here from Phoenix. That's a long way. It's still roasting there...104 yesterday. Breakfast - Protein bar Lunch - Meals on Wheels - Stuffed pepper, mashed potatoes, zucchini, roll, pears Dessert/Snack - I don't think I had any. Dinner - Red Lobster leftovers - Crab stuffed mushrooms, clam strips, bay scallops, mashed potatoes, Brussels sprouts What did you eat yesterday? Photo Credit: Pixabay

Do you have an objection to her visiting you for a few days? If you do, tell her. If you don't, she's an adult and can make her own decisions. I had a sausage, egg and cheese croissant for breakfast, ate the last of the steak, potatoes and onions from the fridge for lunch and Pretty made me a chicken sandwich for supper last night.

@DaddyEvil I told her my hubby bought a metal detector and never used it. She wants it. This one is a much better and more technologically advanced than the first one we had.

Oh my goodness, I imagine that your SIL is no more very young, it's such a long drive from Phoenix. I made a roast beef with potatoes for dinner. I have leftovers for our dinner today.

Your dinner sounds good. She's a year older than I am, 78.

@LindaOHio - She should consider flying to your place and renting a car. It's a too long drive.

The first birthday without someone I think is the hardest. Onward and upward, though. For dinner we got home and just had some leftovers we had in the fridge before we left. It worked out fine. We were tired from the trip and all the driving, and so I really didn't want to cook anyway, plus we stopped off for a pretty big lunch at Arby's on the way back.

I hope she comes. She could provide some companionship for you for awhile. Not sure what breakfast was but had a fruit salad for lunch. I had leftover tomato tart for din.

If you keep him alive in your dreams and memories he will never be gone completely. The crab stuffed mushrooms sound so good. I hope we come into some money soon and can eat at RL.

Yes, it’s a long way. At least she won’t cut through Utah and Colorado like I did. Chicken soft taco for lunch, chicken with cheese and rice for dinner. Filber, yogurt, apples!

I keep opening my mouth to yell at him in the other room. Then I remember he's not there. I bought a 5" cake from Walmart and had some in his honor.

Yes. When you spend 58 years with someone, it's very difficult to get used to him not being here.
