I thought I'd be smart and call the IRS at 7 am when they opened up. The person I spoke with (after waiting a few minutes) said she would transfer me to the correct department. I waited 30 minutes. When the person picked up the phone, I was disconnected yet again for the 4th time!!!!!!!!!!! Terminix came out and found one mouse in the basement. He said it looks like they are getting in via the basement door. I called the main office and told them I paid big bucks for an exclusion. They said that I would probably have to pay again to have the spot taken care of. I said "no" that this should have been done the first time around. She is sending out an inspector on Wednesday to take a look. Sigh. Breakfast - PB&J sandwich Lunch - Meals on Wheels - Meatball sub, mushrooms, green beans, banana Dessert/Snack - Mini Moon Pie Dinner - Chicken/Muenster sandwich, tortilla chips, blueberry yogurt What did you eat yesterday? Good for you for standing your ground. I hope that they can rid your house of the mouse. Supper last night was bruschetta, baked potatoes, corn and t-bone steaks. It felt like a summer's day so we had a summer's meal.

Your dinner sounds yummy. Yes I'm not going to pay more for something that already should have been done.

Mice will always find a way into a house. At our last house, we caught one or two every spring and fall... We just kept traps set around the house for them. When we caught one, Pretty would scream for me to empty the trap... We have two or three traps set around the kitchen in this house and have caught one mouse in 8 years here. I ate a beef and bean burrito for breakfast and had two bananas and 3/4 of a peach for supper last night. I also drank a Black Cherry soda with the fruit.

Well, I can't stand the mice; and I paid a lot to have them kept out. I'm not paying anymore.

@LindaOHio I don't blame you. I wouldn't pay again, either.

I am sorry you had to deal with that frustrating phone call with the IRS! I agree you should not have to pay again for their neglecting to take care of it to begin with.

@LindaOHio that is the most frustrating thing! I wonder how you can complain when you can’t get through to call .

I'm going to have to find some way to complain to the IRS about not being able to get through to that department. I keep getting disconnected.

@shaggin I'm going to search their website to see if there's any other way of contacting them.

Yeah, “let’s rip you off.” The name of the game. My insurance company did that to me a long time ago: I have one roof that was leaking in two places. They wrote it up as two separate incidents then canceled my insurance for having too many claims. I’d be calling Terminix’s main office if you don’t get satisfaction out of the local office. I had a chicken taco salad for lunch and chicken soup for dinner. Yogurt, fiber, peach sorbet, and applesauce!

@LindaOHio — it’s pretty sad how “old hat” we have become to dealing with underhanded tricks by companies, isn’t it.

@FourWalls Terminix charges way too much for their services. They caught me at a vulnerable time when I just wanted to get rid of the mice. They were getting out of hand.

Oh, how frustrating Linda! I share your frustration with having to call any utility or agency. I went through something similar with Cigna this week. Put on hold, long wait times, sometimes disconnected. It can ruin a good part of your day!

@dgobucks226 Yes. There were no other contact phone numbers available EXCEPT for the local office. I could try there.

@LindaOHio Maybe a letter explaining the situation might reach someone who will help you. Worth a try and a lot less time consuming.

Most of yesterday I had little time for meals. Breakfast was a banana and a ham sandwich on the run. Lunch was an apple and peanut butter on saltines. Bob came home with a pan of cinnamon rolls and we each had one before shopping. When we got back we had brats and baked beans and chopped spinach. Oui pina colada yogurt, too.

Good for you for standing your ground about Terminix. Yesterday, I had a big bowl of cream of chicken wild rice soup, a bowl of chicken salad, and a hamburger patty.

Maybe you can just get a general handY man to do it. Some of are quite good, and UlI am sure more affordable than Terminix.

Terminix is going to have to fix it. I spent over $1,000 for the exclusion. It should have been done properly.

What a frustrating day between the IRS and the mouse issue! Hopefully the inspector sorts it out properly this time without extra charges. Your meals sound good though – I haven’t had a Moon Pie. Yesterday I kept it simple with toast for breakfast, soup for lunch, and pasta for dinner.

I've had this happen to me too. You have to wait forever to speak to a supposed specialist in whatever area you are calling about. I hope you are able to get whatever you need to take care of done at some point. The Terminix thing sure sounds fun. Not! I do hope it gets figured out and you don't have to pay extra for something they should have done before.

We had Italian sausages on the grill with sauerkraut and sauteed onions and bell peppers. Man, were they good. We had tuna salad and a dill mac salad on the side. All good eats. As for your Terminix ordeal...I agree with you 100%. You should not have to pay anymore. They should have done the job right the first time.

@LindaOHio The only way I really eat it is in a cold tuna mac salad or in a tuna casserole. I really never eat it by itself. Unless it's the tuna steak or something. That's really good.
