Late Lunch and Dinner are Cooked

I broke down a 5 lbs roll of hamburger and a 3 lbs roll of pork sausage this afternoon into quart freezer bags, mixing sausage and hamburger together.
I cooked some of the hamburger and sausage in a skillet and added Sloppy Joe sauce and let that simmer. Then made hamburgers and sausage patties separately. That's late lunch and dinner all finished when we get hungry. (I'm eating a hamburger with sweet Maya onions sliced on it with American cheese, ketchup and mayo. YUM!)
Do you like sweet onions?

I’ve never had sloppy joes. I’m sure I’ve got a sauce mix in the cupboard though.

They're really good! Some people eat sloppy Joes on hamburger buns but a lot of people just use plain white bread with the meat and sauce spread on it. Sometimes I'll just eat the sloppy Joe meat/sauce by itself.

I usually make Sloppy Joes once a month and make enough that I can eat several meals from the batch. Sometimes Pretty has some and sometimes she doesn't.
Sometimes I'll eat some sweet onions while I'm slicing or dicing them.

You could eat one of the regular hamburgers, then. Those are pure beef.

@DaddyEvil - I had blooming onions in the States, there was a restaurant in Orlando that made them, I think to remember the name of the restaurant was Damon's.

@LadyDuck I wish I could make them at home! We rarely go out to eat anymore and haven't been to amusement parks for 10 years or more by now.

We used to buy blooming onions and loved those. They're onions that are cut almost all the way through and then battered and deep fried. You pull part off and dip it into some sauce before eating it. We bought them at different amusement parks around our state.
I bake onions with meat and potatoes. YUM!

I do like sweet onions. Is Sloppy Joe sauce sweet like spaghettios? I've never tried that. I got into the mini pie making mode today so I put some Piano Guys music on, sliced some messy cherries from the freezer and got busy with making pastry. Now the oven is heating and I'm heading back into writing a bit more of a short story.

I love all sorts of onions. I could not cook without them. And when I´m very lazy, I caramelize onion wedges and eat them with buns.

I do like sweet onions especially on a burger.
Sounds like you were busy getting that burger meat and sausage broken down into freezer portions, etc.

It doesn't really take long to divide the large packages up but it's helpful if Pretty comes in and does part of it for me. Even when I can't see, she won't do any of that herself.

@DaddyEvil my daughter will help with most stuff but not raw chicken. If we get a big pkg of chicken cutlets from Sam's Club that's my job to divide it all into portions.

Pretty won't buy me any other type of meats. She says it's too expensive. I asked for ham!
I ate one hamburger yesterday but there are four more in the fridge. And the large bowl of Sloppy Joe meat/sauce is in the fridge, too.

That hamburger sounds delish! I love onions, doesn't even really matter what kind. I did up a 10 pound roll and got it put in the freezer the other day. Next time I want to do some into hamburger patties and freeze them so all I have to do is take them out and not do any mixing.

@DaddyEvil Don't think I have ever had a Boston Burger. We have 2 other freezers, learnt they are needed when everyone gets a deer. Sure wish I could afford half a cow thou.

@Ithink Boston Burger is a mix of ground beef (usually 75%) and ground pork sausage (25%). The two meats cooked together complement each other and taste delicious. I use the mix when making different types of pasta and when making burgers. (I also mix ketchup and mayo (50/50) as a dressing for the burgers or to dip fries when we make those, too.)
I only hunted and brought home wild game when I was a teenager on my parent's farm. Some of my brothers hunted until they passed away and often shared some of the wild meat with my daughter and I. (I am next-to-the-youngest out of 16 kids. Now, there is just me, one sister and two brothers left.)
We were offered a chance to go in halves with one of my brothers this fall on a head of beef but, since we don't have the freezer space, I had to refuse. It's a LOT cheaper to buy it that way than to buy it at the store.

Thanks. I love mixing up Boston burger and freezing it. I wish our Walmart sold hamburger in the 10 lbs tubes but they only stock the 5 lbs tubes and, sometimes, only the 3 lbs tubes.
I'll only eat the sweet onions raw but onions all taste very similar to me when they're cooked.
I only have the freezer with our fridge so don't have the room to make up a lot of food in advance. We keep talking about buying a large deep freezer but haven't done that yet.

The mix of the two meats is called Boston Burger but I don't know why it's called that. They mix well together and each enhances the flavor of the other.
I don't doubt that a bit. It's hard to think of things that are different to cook in a house, let alone in a trailer.

@noni1959 I'm sure! I don't often cook in the oven anymore but it's nice it's there when I do feel like baking something.
I hope your vacation will be nice and you get some rest.

@DaddyEvil It's getting harder to figure out. Thankfully, I'm headed to Oregon Sunday for nine days and can cook with an oven. It will be so nice to get away from the trailer for awhile.
