80 days until spring.
Bird flu is suspected by officials after 12 swans died at Lake Eola in Orlando.
Can you believe that it's going to be 2026 the day after tomorrow? Where did this year go?
The weather has been lousy. Very strong winds, s**w and temps in the 20s.
Received my new smartphone and have sent texts, etc.
Breakfast - Granola bar
Lunch Meals on Wheels - Ham, cheesy potatoes, mixed veggies
Dessert/Snack - Nature's Bakery Brownie, 70% dark chocolate
Dinner - Buffalo chicken and vegan cheese sandwich, veggie poppables, strawberries

I don't pay much attention to the news anymore. It always seems to be about trump and whatever weird things he and his cronies are doing.
We're down to just a breeze now and the temp is 15F at 3 am. Our high today is supposed to reach 42F.
I ate Tostitos chips and salsa and a fiber chocolate chip cookie for breakfast, ate a hamburger for lunch and ate some steamed mixed veggies for supper last night.

@LindaOHio It's going fine right now. I'm thawing smoked turkey for supper tonight and planning on making stuffing, corn bread and steamed veggies to go with it.
You're welcome to bring Cousin #2 over to eat with us.

I hope I don't catch the bird flu! I was just at Lake Eola in Orlando a few weeks ago. Such a pretty part of downtown Orlando.
Very cool that you got your new smartphone. I hope you have lots of fun playing around with it.

Chicken taco salad for lunch (it was free!

@LindaOHio I don't know if humans can get it but it could wipe out a lot of birds so I guess there'd be shortages of chickens and eggs.

Yes this year did seem to fly by. Hard to believe we're heading into 2026
Its cold and very windy here but thankfully no snow in the forecast for the rest of the week. I would love to see the sun but so far it's just overcast and dismal.
Yesterday we had grilled chicken, sweet potatoes and mixed vegetables. Needed a healthier meal after all the Christmas indulgences

That's so sad about the swans, and scary about bird flu. It's potentially very dangerous to humans as well as birds, and often massive numbers of chickens and turkeys may have to be culled if they are infected by wild birds. I hate to see it :(

Yes. There were millions of birds culled during the last bird flu epidemic.

Yes, very windy here too. 40 MPH gusts! That bird flu seems to be a very pesky disease. Did you get one of those fancy expensive smartphones?
