The Curtain Lady Told Me To Call

My photo shows an early June portion of my ongoing new garden with some of the metal sculptures that I believe Judy Evans asked to see.
I didn’t have time to post yesterday, but did all of my notifications and completed them early this morning. I had to get back to my walking, had a 3 hour hair appointment instead of the usual 4, saw my brother, spoke to my sister-in-law, my brother’s wife, who flew down on Tuesday, and received multiple texts from my friend, Sandi, whose poor husband was sent to the ER from rehab due to disorientation. He had to wait for a bed. She’s on the way to see him right now.
Last week we canceled reservations at a favorite Italian restaurant. It’s very difficult to get a reservation, so I mentioned in a post that we were told to tell them the curtain lady sent us. She originally suggested to the owners to cover their windows with white, sheer curtains and their business boomed and made it even more difficult to get a reservation. When I originally called, they had our name in the system, so never had to mention the curtain lady. When I canceled, I made reservations for tonight with no problem. So no cooking for me tonight (yay) and a night out with my hubby

Oh, I would have thought you would have saved it for "date night."

How do you keep the weeds out of your flower beds? Such a showcase! I hope Sandi's husband is better.
Have a good date night and a good weekend.

I pull them, spray them with natural weed killers, and heavily mulch them. It looks better when everything is in bloom and after I plant my seedlings.
He is in a bed and in another room, but still disoriented. He also has bedsores now, which they are working on.
Thanks, and wishing you the same!

@DianneN You're welcome. I'm sorry to hear that he's still disoriented. There is something called Hospital Delirium. It can happen in rehab or a hospital. It happened to my hubby the first day he went into the hospital. It lasted for a few weeks.

@Ineeddentures Yes, he offered us after dinner drinks, but we had had enough with dinner, so declined.

@DianneN Hope the owner treated you to a nice drink on the house, some after dinner coffee on the house and some nice sweeties with the coffee, probably nice drak chocolate and mint sweeties

Thank you! That’s my garden at my other house and the cat is an inexpensive sculpture bought on Amazon. She reminds me of one of my cats no longer alive. I talk to her when I see her in my garden. I took the photo myself. Thanks so very much!

I was searching for your discussion yesterday and didn't find any. Thought you might be busy partying.

@DianneN Yeah I understand.
I do disappear for almost two years when life gets too busy. I am trying not to again.

I was thinking about you and here you are! Thanks, our dinner was above and beyond our expectations. And what made it extra great was that the owner remembered us and kept stopping by our table to talk and joke around, but never while we were eating.

@LeaPea2417 It was very pretty and the entire restaurant had been redone, very tastefully, since our last visit.

@DianneN Well, sounds like a busy life then!
That's good you were able to find that interest during that time...I know it was a rough time. Seems so long ago now with it being 2026 already

I hope you enjoy your evening out and have a very good time. Reminded me of something odd as well, like you mentioned the curtain lady. This was a long time ago but a friend told me about a haunted restaurant. if I remember, somewhere in New Orleans. People always had problems getting reservations because it was popular, and when you were curious about the spooks, well, you were lucky to get a seat—any seat. My friend and her husband got a reservation since they were tourists and praised the restaurant to high heaven. They arrived for dinner and were about to sit down. My friend heard someone say, "Pretty lady," and both she and her husband looked strangely at the waiter. As her husband was going to take his seat, a voice said, "I'm sitting here with the pretty lady." Needless to say, the chair was empty. They solved their spooky problem by getting a third chair and dining with whoever cared to join them,

The owner remembered us from our many visits before once he saw our faces. He wanted to know why we haven’t been back in over two years
