I've made a serious decision

I have lived with no cartilage in both of my knees for more than 25 years. Originally I was too young for replacing since I would have had to do it again before I died.
This cruise made it all too plain that I have finally reach the point where replacement is a necessity. I have an appointment with my orthopedic doctor in August and I think I will Be scheduling the first one.
I'm not afraid of surgery I'm afraid of anesthesia, I never react well. But I have a lot more travel
In me so the old knees have got to go.
My last cortisone shots didn't help at all!! So I will see how soon I can get the first one done.
It's good to be home but I have to admit I loved being served on the cruise. Now I have to clean my own shower and make my own bed. Bummer lol.
The dogs were very glad to see me and so was my grandson Chris who was feeding them and had to sleep in my bed to keep them company!!

I am sure that your return was indeed welcomed!
I can understand holding out as long as you could regarding your knees, I would do the same.
Surgery is a major stress on our bodies and it has to be very carefully timed.
I hope that you get good news next month.

Better to do it now. I have been reading about operations and how serious they become as a person ages. I hope the anesthesia goes well.

I am hesitant but unless she ( my doctor) has another opinion I think replacement is my only option.

Here I believe that hips are the most successful but certainly lots of knees get replaced. A little different when I am considering mine. Lol

lol he loves my bed, it is more comfortable than his but yes, sleeping with 4 is more restrictive than the one he usually sleeps with.

Sorry to hear that. Is it anesthesia or the needle? Don't feel bad. I'm pointed out for when I was a kid, I am afraid of injection.

The anesthesia is administered through a drip line with a needle so I do get a needle.

I'm in the same boat as you. I'm more afraid of the anesthesia than the surgery even though the surgery itself is a bit scary. But, I haven't made a decision yet so I'm glad you did and hope that it all works out for you. Living with bad knees is no joke.

I feel it is better to get it done.
It has become a common surgery in most parts of the world with a very good success rate.
I wish you a healthy "knee days" again soon.
Cruise holidays are always enjoyable especially in meeting interesting people.

Good for you in making your decision so you are able to get around to do the things you want to do. I know it won't be easy, but it sure will be worth it. Glad you had such a nice time on your cruise.
