I got my thyroid nodule biopsy results yesterday. I was greatly relieved that the nodule is benign. The report came to my medical app. I haven’t heard from the doctor yet. Not sure what comes next, but hope to find out what is going on with my thyroid. They haven’t given me a diagnosis. I feel blessed and much gratitude to God that I have no serious problems from the large nodule. Thank you all for your prayers and kind thoughts.
I hope that all is well with everyone.

So thankful to hear this! It’s been a good day with good news (my brother’s lung nodule is benign as well).

That certainly is good news Marie. I'm sure you were worried about the biopsy. Hope you hear from the doctor soon to see what course of action they want to take. Do you already take thyroid medication?

Okay, remember, I'm not a doctor. I can tell you what happened with me when I was diagnosed with a nodule on my thyroid and was told it is benign. I go in once a year to talk with the endocrinologist. (You might go for exams from 6 months to 18 months.) They always give me another untrasound to check the size and appearance of the nodule. Thankfully, mine are very small.)
Since it isn't cancerous, your doctor may take a wait-and-see attitude like mine is doing. IF the nodule grows too large and makes it difficult to swallow or breathe or leads to voice changes, then the doctor might schedule you for surgery to remove the nodule.
Remember, please, this is what my Endocrinologist told me. You may have a doctor with different ideas.
May I ask if you're taking Levothyroxine? If so, that may help keep the nodule from growing and may help your body get rid of the nodule by itself. IF you notice any changes, please call your doctor and ask for a change in how much medication you're taking and possibly for another visit.
My doctor has let me increase my dosage twice when I was having trouble and called. I just had a new thyroid ultrasound and was told everything looks good at my current med level.
If you feel like you need to talk about anything at all, please PM me.
