Did You All Have A "Normal Christmas Dinner"? Well, I Sure Didn't!!!  

Hey, Merry Christmas, and I'll bet that Take Out food was delicious! I am sure the supermarket will refund your money, but it was a lot of ruined work, eh? I ate tuna noodle casserole for dinner. Long story, but that is actually one of my favorite things, with a nice salad and vegetable and chocolate Ganache cake for dessert. Hope your New Year's dinner goes more smoothly!

Rancid turkey! Sorry to hear about that. It's a shame that had to happen to you. Dinner here? Fresh pea soup, and not rancid, PTL. Dorcas made it this afternoon. For fun, after the second cup I added instant mashed potatoes, salt, and a dash of pepper.

Sorry you had a bad bird there...Chinese Take Out just doesn't sound Christmassy at all...unless you're Chinese, then I guess it might.

Our dinner went good...of course, there were a few moments during it that I thought about Mom and Nick not being there...that will happen for a while, I imagine...but it was mostly happy, smiling, joking with my brothers and sisters and assorted nieces and nephews and my Dad and his woman...I have no complaints.

Hi Opal! I'm so sorry that your bird was bad but I am thankful that you were wise enough to recognize that something was wrong with it and not eat it. It's a good thing the Chinese food place was open! Dyna, Sugar and I do sincerely wish Auntie Opal a very Merry Christmas...and no more disasters. :)

No disasters here, just a nice dinner with my sister and her daughter tonight after hubby and I worked. I am sorry your bird was bad.

I can't remember what I ate for lunch today. I had turkey sausage for dinner. Our family had our Christmas dinner last night. I ate rolls, deviled eggs, and some cheese ball. I passed on the ham. I hope your Christmas was still good. And I really hope that store makes it up to you, in the form of a refund or something!

Oh {{Opal~Sweetheart}} How awful!!! That would really really
hack me off bigtime!!!

I hope you have your receipt from the grocery store and take that rancid
bird with you and demand your money back;

Was it a thawed turkey when you bought it or frozen? Even so you know
those darn things ( the birds) do get thawed out on occasion and they
try to refreeze them;

Yeah I for sure would not eat the darn thing never ever;

Our Christmas dinner got canceled until Sunday my idiot a$$ brother
decided he did not want to travel today its an hour and a half tops
from his place to the farm here, its been extremely cold, mega winds
and snowy ( in places ); but still our Father who is 82 years old
has been cooking and slaving over the meal same as me the last few days
and then he cancels now until Sunday most of the food you know should be ate
THE DAY ITS MADE NOT DAYS LATER....the pies my Dad asked me to BAKE for
his precious Son will NOT be looking great by then either and I REFUSE
to bake any more of them all I've done this week is cook/bake and wash dishes
AND I'M SICK OF IT! SICK OF IT, TIRED, AND I HURT LIKE CRAZY!
So Brother dearest will just have to settle for FOOD THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN
ATE TODAY not 3 DAYS LATER...ARGGGHHH!!

Well that kind of sucks Opal.......I hope you had a good Christmas otherwise.

I made a kind of non-traditional Christmas dinner......Pork loaf flattened out and rolled up jelly roll style with stuffing inside, then I wrapped the whole thing in bacon and kind of slow cooked it.
Served with mashed taters and pork gravy and corn with onions and tomatoes.

It was pretty darned DEEEEEEELICIOUS.

Normal? no..Being alone this CHRISTmas again I saw fit to clean out some of the odd botkins in the frig and had a bit of leftover surprise. Definitely not traditional but it did do the empty good..emjoy!
