5/10/24 - Update on My Husband

We lost the last Appeal so I had to file for a Reconsideration. The insurance company must be getting tired of paying.
I'm still trying to get an answer from Admissions at the other facility. I leave messages; but she won't return my calls. Very professional.
My husband has been feeling fine since his ER visit and walked a record distance yesterday. Now I wish they would work on his getting in and out of bed and on stairs.
I will be going to visit him today. Bringing soda and some fast food. His 2nd cousin is bringing me (housekeeper's mother).

I am sorry to hear you lost the last appeal. I hope you are able to get a answer from the other facility. That is so frustrating.

@LindaOHio I am amazed and thankful that he has reached this point.
It will build different muscles as well as different commands from his brain, which haven't been used in too long.
I hope and pray that this is the beginning of his last corner and that when he turns the next corner it will be at home with you.

He started on the stairs on Friday! Once he conquers those he must be able to get in and out of bed by himself.

The insurance needs to figure this out. If he goes home too soon and gets injured, he will be back in hospital or rehab.

I'm sorry they're not getting back to you. It must be the new standard in professional courtesy in returning phone calls.
I'm glad your husband walked more than usual. It's a good sign. I hope they start working with him getting in and out of bed soon. Then stair climbing.

At this point it might not be worth it. I think my hubby might be home by the end of the month.

I've just about given up on the other facility. Hubby should be home in 3 weeks or so.
