Not talking about elections... talking about weather. In this corner, we have El Nino. In the other corner, we have a possible break in the polar vortex. Currently (8:30 Monday, Nov. 2) it's 12°C with a predicted high around...

It started yesterday... A banging in my laptop. Two pitiful bangs that sound like someone's using a makeshift hammer trying to alert me that they're trapped inside. And when I turned on my laptop this morning, it started again....

BarBaraPrz I turned the sound off for a few minutes, and when I turned it back on, the banging ceased. Maybe it got out.

Ontario’s minimum wage will rise 35 cents from $17.60 to $17.95 an hour on Oct. 1. I remember when minimum wage was a measely $1 an hour. Back then (1969) I'd have to work two 8-hour shifts to make almost that much, but it was...

Hello everyone. I hope your day is off to a good start. It is 37 degrees F and dark here at the Jersey Shore. Yikes. The high for today is 60. I will *not* be opening up the windows! I woke up at 4am and was like "what the hell?"...

I always thought that today (November 1) was Dia de los Muertos but I just saw on the news that there was a huge parade in Mexico City yesterday. According to Wikipedia it can be celebrated any time between October 31 and November...

BarBaraPrz I wouldn't say I was a Trekkie but I did watch the original series when it first ran. Didn't follow any of the new versions, but was aware of it. The other Star Trek actor that died recently was Walter Koenig (Chekov).

BarBaraPrz I used to be absolutely terrified of dental work, so when I was offered nitrous oxide, I went for it. It didn't put me to sleep but kept me from absolutely freaking out and eventually I was able to sit through dental procedures without it.
