Cousin #2 was over yesterday and so was AAA. The young man charged up the battery and started the car. #2 pulled the car out into the driveway and shut it off. It wouldn't start. She ran after the AAA guy and he jumped the car again. After he left, it wouldn't start. She couldn't get the hood of her car open to jump the Subaru; so she is coming back today. I may have to call AAA again. I think they should give me a new battery.
The washer repair guy will be coming this afternoon. Let's hope THAT works.
Breakfast - Fruit and nut bar
Lunch - Meals on Wheels - Lemon chicken, rice, roll, mixed veggies, apple juice, tropical fruit
Dessert/Snack - Natural brownie, 70% dark chocolate, unsalted peanuts
Dinner - Chicken/vegan cheese sandwich, veggie poppables, blueberries
What did you eat yesterday?

We let it run for 1/2 hour. Cousin #2 was going to drive it; but it wouldn't restart.

Why would they give you a new battery? I mean I know it is relatively new but the car is never driven. You can't expect the battery to stay charged that way. And why would your cousin turn it off right after it had been jumped? You are supposed to let it run for awhile to recharge. In any case I thought you were selling the car anyway.

The first time she let it run for 1/2 hour. She was going to drive it; but made the mistake of shutting it off; and it wouldn't restart. We are going to the Title Bureau probably on Thursday to transfer the car into her (cousin #2) name.

Didn't anyone tell her you have to leave the car running a while to let the battery charge up? Sounds like a situation. I hope you get it figured out tomorrow.

Did the AAA guy check that the charging circuit was working? Once the engine is running he should get a volt meter to check that it’s sufficient to charge the battery. If it is, then it’s either the battery is duff or you have something draining it. He should have checked all this before leaving.

I don't know if he checked all of that. They are supposed to. I think I need a new battery on their dime.

My husband has something that he hooks up to our cars when they won’t be used much. It connects to the battery and keeps it charged. It’s called a trickler.

And that's why I have to go out and start my car and let it run for half an hour to an hour once a week to make sure the battery stays charged. If there's nothing wrong with the battery except it's left sitting, they won't give you a new one. (We only need to drive the car once or twice a month and only for a few miles each time, normally.)
I ate a sausage, egg and cheese croissant for breakfast, had scrambled eggs with turkey, onion and garlic for lunch and had cheese and rolls for supper last night. I ate two mandarin oranges for dessert.

Yesterday I had a tiny lobster roll, a vegan egg tartlet with mushroom, a lemon chiffon, Gruyère mac and cheese, asparagus, a banana wrap, fish tacos, and a hash brown. There were a few tiny things in addition to the first several, but I forget. Those were mini everything at the Princess breakfast.

@LindaOHio A short drive at low speed does not help at all to recharge a battery.

No matter whether or not the battery is new, if a car is not regularly driven, it will drain the battery completely, no matter what. I imagine it is going to have to have a new battery. I hope the washing machine repair goes well. I would be so lost without a working washing machine!
Yesterday I remember having some chicken and a green salad. I did have an orange. Just wasn't very hungry.

I sold the Scion to Carvana weeks ago. I just have the one left which I am giving to cousin #2. I think AAA owes me a new battery.

I’d call AAA and complain that they’re not honoring the warranty. You can tell them that various places have told you the battery is bad, so they should be replacing it.
I had the usual for lunch, Boca burgers and hash browns for dinner, and yogurt and fiber for dessert.

Hope the washer gets fixed for you today and that's one less thing to have to deal with.
I hope the battery can be jumped and not keep turning off. They should replace the battery if it doesn't stay charged.
Last night we had good old meatloaf, mashed potatoes and peas
