emptychair I wonder if he was wearing a life jacket at the time, as it appears, he has one on in the photo, and with an injured leg, he could not tread water so well, so the life jacket must have also helped to save him, plus the quickness of his rescue.

emptychair I think the Philippines are rather unique for city festivals, as we do not have them here in Australia, apart from some held annually in the capital cities. I have attended a few Filipino town festivals myself. One in Pangasinan was a big one.
