Tonight, we’ll be staying in a cabin near our old home town and attending a memorial service for a friend. The co-owner was a member of our local writing group, and possibly still is. In 2019, he won the Wilbur Smith award for...

but nothing happened.
I put off doing some things because I was sure it was going to rain. Instead, we had a nice day with eventually blue skies.
In those skies were big, white, fluffy clouds.
I weeded a lot in my front flower...

You can see a small jar and an empty packet in the photo. I should have stood the packet up so you could see it better. Both the packet and the jar contain the same amount, which surprised me as the packet looked much smaller....

Have you watched it?
It aired since 1981 until 2003 and it had 7 seasons, including some specials, i think.
Cast includes, David Jason (Del Boy or Del), Nicholas Lyndhurst (Rodney), Tessa Peake-Jones (Del's wife), Gwyneth Strong...

We arrived home from our house-sit just a few hours ago. I’m going to make some biscuits (cookies) soon but thought I’d put up a post first.
The photo shows Dominic, one of the two cats we were in charge of, if you can call it...

So this morning there was a closure of road in the city my sister lives in. It might be a first. There was a huge fake octopus in the middle of the road, and apparently it was not easy to move. What is the weirdest...

I try as best as I can to follow doctor's orders. On my last visit he told me my cholesterol was very slightly elevated and to refrain from eating as much pork.
Of course, pork is a staple in our house.
So, I have followed his...

My son counted over 300 cars that passed us today as we were fixing a flat tire in the pouring rain. There was ONE saintly person who stopped. I don’t think 1 in 300 is a very good participation rate.
I wonder what goes through...

Finally everyone around here is clearing out their gardens and planting things. All of my flowers came back from last year and my chocolate mint came back. A friend gave me some seeds from her flowers from last year. So I am...

It is Friday morning here. And I am done with two loads of laundry. I already hung it to dry. I did not use the dryer since we have the mighty sun and wind today. I will be going to my daughter's school to request some documents...

It's getting hot and my grandson and I had a great fan system set up last summer. We had two fans on the stairs that cooled the air and sent it up to the upstairs. It made it so much cooler up here. I didn't have to have the air...

I like pennies.
Anyway, you may have heard they will stop making them in 2026.
Won't things be more expensive then?
No more penny candies
They will be 5 cents I guess.
They will round stuff up to 5, so the article...

Fishmomma I am sad about the penny, as its one more thing that will be gone. It will just cost more to buy items.

On our two days away with the motor-home, we were heading into mining country and went past some very big earthworks. On many of our country roads, there are truck bays at intervals. I don’t know what they’re called in your...

I have been seeing a lot of limited editions lately, and this one caught my eye. I wouldn’t try it myself, would you? I also saw Coca Cola Oreos, but that didn’t even tempt me.

We and Vince’s brother went to visit the remaining brother and his wife. The older brother turned 81 a day or two ago and in the last year or so, has suddenly become very old and frail. He was always the ‘project manager’ for our...

I planted these spring onions in a small empty sack last week. I bought spring onions and cut them, 2 inches from the roots to preserve the top for spinach salad or for a boiled fish with ginger. I noticed that after a week, they...
