How do you maintain the kitchen drain?

My kitchen drain was clogged on Sunday night. That's so troublesome to fix it. In the past I thought the dish washer was nice but now I wonder whether it accelerate the speed of the clogged drain as this is what I found online....

Anne Marie Guyer There is a product here for clogged drains that I have used. It is called "Drain-O". It does work.
