We are going to a friend’s 80th birthday celebration this evening. We’ve been friends since our children went to the same school and the kids are now all in their 50s. She and her husband were the ones who introduced us to the...

My corner has enjoyed summer heat for the past few days. Now that I have turned the A/C on we're back to cloudy skies and Spring. It is still dry and...

When I was a child, we bought what were called "record albums," or "LPs," and played them on what were called "turntables," or "record players."
There was up to 45 minutes of music on a single LP, and the songs always came in the...

Loretta I still have a few albums. Today, I went to the thrift store and found a Paul Anka "Diana" 45 for $1 and grabbed it. I even have a couple cassette tapes, one of Millie Vanillie. I keep trying to correct that spelling but it changes back. I don't have 8-tracks...

Pretty much everyone I know here has been doing this for a while, unless they have a bottomless wallet--and I don't know anyone offhand that has one of those.
My older son has a neighbor that has always had a nice pick-up truck....

Loretta Back in 2013, I needed a truck since my use of a vehicle includes towing trailers, dump runs, hauling furniture and what have you. My milage was pretty fair at 18 - 24 mpg depending on terrain and highway. It's older now, and I need the 02 sensors replaced, so...

Do you have anything that makes you quiver in fear whenever you remember it? Some people will say they are not afraid of anything but I don't believe that because as long as you're alive, there will definitely be one thing that...

My ancient body is tired, but I get a boost of energy when I do a bit of exercise.
Yesterday, I had the day off. It was not hot out, but 75 F was enough for me to visit the pool.
I got a few laps in and felt better about life....

Have you ever done macrame? I haven’t but I’ve often admired it. I thought this was a macrame lampshade but now I've blown the photo up I can see it's made of beads of some kind.
The lampshade in the photo was in the Nungarin...

OK, it's time to confess your sins. I love Matthew 25, and Matthew 6. I also love Isaiah 58.
But the fact is, most of my Bible reading has occurred in Bibles I have "pinched" from motel rooms around the Country.
